What Is AI?
What Is AI?
AI stands for Artificial Intelligence. It is technology that helps computers think, learn, and solve problems โ kind of like giving a computer a brain!
Regular computers only do exactly what someone tells them to do. But AI computers can learn from examples and get smarter over time. That's what makes AI special.
๐ง Think of AI like a very fast learner. If you showed it 10,000 pictures of cats, it could learn to recognize a cat in any photo โ even ones it has never seen before!
Where You Already Use AI
You probably use AI every single day without even knowing it! Here are some examples:
- ๐ฎ Video games โ the computer characters that move and react to you
- ๐ฑ YouTube and TikTok โ the videos it recommends for you
- ๐ต Spotify and Apple Music โ songs it thinks you'll like
- ๐ฃ๏ธ Siri and Alexa โ voice assistants that answer your questions
- ๐ท Phone cameras โ face detection and photo filters
- ๐ Google Search โ understanding what you're looking for
The first AI program was created in 1956 โ before your parents, grandparents, and maybe even your great-grandparents were born!
